If you’ve ever been to a party at my house, you know the drill: don’t overthink it, just show up.
Our guests’ job:
Wear whatever you want.
Bring something to share, or bring nothing at all.
Open door policy: bring whoever will help you relax and have a good time.
Show up when you can, leave when you’re ready.
Be respectful of our neighbors with parking.
Be open and eager to meet people that you don’t know.
My job as the hostess:
Play great music.
Let people be as loud as they want to be.
Keep the bathroom stocked and tidy.
Make sure everyone feels welcome, included, and never ever left out.
Be a prostitute: get around to everyone, it’s about them not me, be responsive to the idea that everyone wants and needs different things, don’t rush your clients, start clean but know it’s gonna’ get dirty, and SERVE it ‘till the last one leaves.
Ironically, this is how I think about coaching and owning a CrossFit gym. Our members are guests at a party we’re hosting at our gym…every single day. They have a job, and I have a job. And, I “get to” be a prostitute.
And, I love my job 😉
P.S. A huge thank you to CrossFit 737 for being one of the best hosts in the business.
