When I was snuggling Harley Love to sleep last night, I said, “I love you so much, Harley Love.”
She replied with, “I love you more.”
“Oh, Harley Love, that’s impossible because I love you with Mommy love.”
“What’s that?”
“It’s a very special kind of love that is different than any other kind of love in the whole world. It’s even different than the way I love Daddy.”
“Is it SECRET???”
I laughed. “No, it’s not secret. It’s just a very unique kind of love that you can never know or feel until you have you own babies. It’s one of the very best feelings I have ever felt in my whole life. And, the love I have for you is very unique because you are my last baby. And, THAT makes you very, very special to me.”
She didn’t say a word. She just laid there next to me, nuzzled into my arm, and looked up at the ceiling for a while before rolling over and falling asleep.
Now, I wonder what she was thinking there in my arm. But, I don’t think I’ll ask her because the mystery of it is enough to satisfy my curiousity.
