She found out today that she damaged her PCL, tore her meniscus, and RETORE her ACL. This poor girl needs to go through that entire thing all over again. Except now they need to do a double surgery to get the patella out of her other knee because they already used the one from her right knee for the last ACL tear. It’s just really sort of unbelievable. Less than 5% of people ever end up retearing an ACL after it’s been repaired. And, less than 1% of her surgeon’s patients ever retear. She’s, literally, the less than 1%. But, she’s back and school and she has INCREDIBLE friends and teammates that are taking such good care of her and keeping her distracted in all positive ways.
My good friend, Charlotte, jumped on the chance to help us and watch the littles so we could drive with Maya back to UMass so she didn’t have to be alone. I can’t even tell you how grateful I am to have you in my life, Char. So lucky.
Working on the document I need to leave for my parents when they watch our kids while we head off to Bermuda for vacation with friends for a joint birthday getaway 🙂
EC still has these little tokens I sent her years ago on her fridge.
Maya’s friends asked me to send them baby pics of her. So, we’re starting a little series.
